Anna asks citizens to vote for good people

Anna Hazare, the anti-corruption crusader had asked people on Sunday to vote for people with a good character in the 2014 elections while choosing a political party in the general elections of 2014.

On his blog he also asked them not to support MPs and political parties who have opposed the Jan Lokpal Bill so that they won't be reelected.

He called the people of the nation who elect their representatives are the true leaders of the country according to Democracy but the today's scenario is such that the representatives have become their leaders. He said that we have to change the situation and bring decentralization of the power. "There is a need to bring in a law to give all powers to the gram sabhas. In the 2014 elections, people should vote cautiously. Instead of voting for any party, people should vote for candidates with good character," he wrote in his blog now at annahazarethinks.blogspot.in He also recounted that since the Independence of the country there were no laws implemented to prevent corruption. He also said that it took almost 10 years to merely bring the Right to Information act.

He said that a strong Jan Lokpal Bill would come into force only if they elect people with a good character.  He said that his could bring in the law for 'right to reject' elected representatives who rely on corruption and muscle power.

He also said that the UPA government has been against the Jan Lokpal bill and has not cooperated in setting up the Lokpal.
