The weird incident of a 35-year old unemployed son killing his elder father for chicken took place on Wednesday. The neighbors handed him over to the police.
Ajay Singh had a wife and two children who lived with his father, Ramlal Singh, 65. Ramlal worked as a laborer in the same house to support his son and family.

He, on Wednesday, refused giving money to his son to buy chicken on the occasion of Gatari Amavasya. Ajay was deeeply troubled by this and he ran to the kitchen, picked up a knife and stabbed him fiercely in the stomach many times.

His wife and children who were dumfounded by the rage of Ajay could only be mere spectators of the horror happening right before their eyes. The commotion at the house had drawn the attention of neighbors who then rushed to Ramlal's house only to find him lying dead in a pool of his own blood.

Ajay threatened to kill the neighbors too but they easily overpowered him and handed him over to the Nalasapara police, Ajay was later charged with murder under the section 302 of the Indian Penal Code. The police also took possession of the knife he used to kill his father.

After a medical examination, it was confirmed that Ajay was drunk and his wife, Sandhya Nair had told the police that he was mentally unwell too. Ajay would be taken to the Thane Civil Hospital and conduct a mental health check up to confirm his wife's allegation.
