Leader of the Janata Dal United JD U and the cheif minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has expressed his views to support presidential nominee Hamid Ansari for the second term if the United Progressive Alliance UPA confirms his candidature.

JD U has provided support to the UPA's candidate, Pranab Mukherjee for president and is also known to support Hamid Ansari for the post of the vice president. A senior leader in JU-U said that the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar would support the Hamid Ansari unstintingly if the UPA would declare and confirm his candidature in the forthcoming vice president polling.

Another leader from JDU said that Hamid Ansari was recommended as the best candidate that JDU can support for the position of a Vice President.
