The presidential candidate PA Sangma, who's been backed by AIADMIK, is scheduled to visit Chennai today. The sources said that Sangma will alight at the Chennai airport and head to the AIADMK headoffice where he will meet the MPs of the party. He would seek support from the MPs yet another time as presidential election is round the corner. Meanwhile, arrangments have been in place to welcome Sangma royally.

Posters, flexis and banners in and around Chennai have been erected welcoming the former lok sabha speaker. The party sources said Sangma is likely to meet Jayalalitha on July 15 at Kodanadu estate. It is known that Jayalalitha too had been seeking the support of local political parties in the south for Sangma. Earlier, she even telephone TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu and sought his support. It looks like Sangma would give a tough competition to Pranab Mukherjee.
