The Congress official spokesperson Janardhan Dwivedi has said that UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi would declare Congres presidential candidate on Thursday evening.
He has said that Dr. Manmohan Singh would continue as the prime minister of the country till 2014. Dwivedi made these statements in the wake of Mulayam and Mamata Banerjee stating that they would nod if Manmohan Singh becomes the presidential candidate.
He has also said that there's no question of Manmohan Singh in the presidential race and questioned as to how Mamata would decide who the presidential candidate is.
Dwivedi has said that Congress has rejected the proposed names—Abdul Kalam and Somnath Chatterjee. Pranab Mukherjee and Hamid Ansari's names are proposed by the Congress, he added.
