8000 km range missile to be developed?

Indian scientists are capable of producing missiles that can hit the target over 8000 kms? Yes, said the scientific advisor to the defense minister, V K Saraswat. He has also said that Agni V can be doubled up for shooting small sized spacecrafts into the space. It is known that the recently test fired Agni V missile has a shooting range of 5000 kilometres.

He even mentioned that scientists in India would be working in bringing out missiles that can hit target beyond 8000 kilometres as and when the situation demands. He, however, refused to give a time frame when one of the reporters asked as to how much it would take for DRDO to come out with such projects. Further, he said Agni V had a special kind of scientific technology that will make it a perfect launch vehicle for small satellites.
