The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) is smelling a huge scam in Delhi airport deal with private sector Dial. In its report, CAG stated that Delhi airport allotted land, worth Rs. 163 lakh crore, as a part of airport modernization project.
Notably, the CAG report was yet to be tabled in the Parliament. The sources said that CAG was currently not in a position to talk on the subject. The CAG has also mentioned in its report that the projected earning capacity of this land for 58 years was 681 crore rupees per acre. Reacting to the report, the ministry of civil aviation has said that the policy to modernize Delhi airport was the decision taken by the union cabinet. The modalities, terms and conditions were approved by the ministers, added the civil aviation. (Phani)
