The Air India pilots strike has entered its seventh day today. The Air India management has cancelled as many as 13 international flights on Monday in the wake of ongoing strike. Amongst the 13 international planes, seven flights were schedule to leave from Delhi while four flights were from Mumbai.
Notably, 22 flights were cancelled on Sunday and these 13 were cancelled overnight. Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh has said that the pilots have to call off the strike in order to come for talks whereas striking pilots have been stressing the government to release the pending salaries immediately.
Meanwhile, the angry passengers, whose plans had been dashed due to the call off of flights, have tried to resort to road blockade outside Mumbai airport over complaints that the Air India managements didn’t give them clear information.
On the other hand, Air India management had been trying to call off the strike. As a part of the same, it had sacked as many as 76 pilots ever since the strike started. Although Delhi Court declared the strike as illegal, the pilots haven’t resumed their duties yet. (Phani)
