IIT Delhi student taken into custody for threating IIT Kanpur girl

On Thursday February 9 an IIT Delhi student named as Surendra Bhukhiya who is studying third year of textile engineering was taken into custody from the college's campus and brought Kanpur for the reason of purportedly threatening an IIT Kanpur girl, As said by Circle Officer Shailendra Lal.
As Circle Officer Shailendra Lal said, Surendra Bhukhiya was taken into custody for trying to kidnap the IIT Kanpur girl and compelling her to marry him.
In the last year on November 26, The IIT Kanpur girl who is studying a first year BTech, had registered an FIR opposite to Bhukhiya in Kalyanpur police station.As declaring that the boy Surendra Bhukhiya was blackmailing to wrong use of her pictures if she denied to marry him, Lal said.
The girl had lost her mobile phone and purse in November, which was found by Bhukhiya, who hails from Warangal in Andhra Pradesh, he said.The accused asked her tomeet him to return the phone and on this pretext, abducted her, the CO said.
He took her to a temple and attempted to force her to marry him, but she managed to escape, Lal said. Following the incident, Bhukhiya threatened to misuse her photographs obtained from her phone, and sent her vulgar messages over email, facebook and phone, he said.
The girl tried to reason with him, but after all else failed, she registered an FIR, following which the accused was arrested from the IIT Delhi campus, he said.
Circle Officer Shailendra Lal said that the IIT Kanpur administration denied to comeback on the matter saying that the matter was being checking into thoroughly by the police.
