Jyotirmoy Dey s killers nabbed Maharashtra Home Minister R.R. Patil claimed in Mumbai today that police have cracked the murder case of well known journalist Jyotirmoy Dey of tabloid daily Mid-day and arrested 7 per sons in connection with the case.
 
Addressing media, the Minister said that while three of them were arrested in Rameswaram of Tamil Nadu, one person was picked up from Sholapur and another three from Mumbai. “But all of them belonged to Maharashtra,” he said.
 
Patil said he has announced a reward of Rs.10 lakh for the Mumbai Crime Branch police for their work in cracking the case. Police later said an underworld link is surfacing in the incident and is being investigated.
 
Jyotirmoy Dey was shot dead from a close range by four motorcycle-borne assailants in suburban Powai on June 11 pumping five bullets in to his body.
