Unsealed documents in the Chicago court today revealed that David Coleman Headley, the accused in the Mumbai terrorist attacks case, had also visited a nuclear power plant in India in April 2008 at the instance of Major Iqbal, his boss in Pakistan.

 

The documents were unsealed in the court after the daily Chicago Tribune filed a petition. The uncovered documents said that he undertook the visit to a nuclear power plant to conduct surveillance and find out the security set up there. But, the name of the nuclear plant visited by him is not yet known.

 

The documents said Headley visited Mumbai in April 2008 and conducted surveillance of potential landing sites, and took boat rides around the Mumbai harbour, using the GPS and making videos.

 

The Pakistani-born American, working for the Lashkar (LeT), conducted surveillance of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) train station and the Taj Mahal hotel which were later attacked by the Pakistan terrorists. Along with them, he also undertook a nuclear power plant’s surveillance.

 

After completing these surveillance activities, Headley returned to Pakistan and met his master Major Iqbal who took images of the locations with the help of the Google Earth.
