Indian software giant, Infosys Technologies Ltd, is facing a legal suit in the US for its alleged involvement in visa and tax fraud.The law suit is the result of legal case filed by an American employee of the company who complained that Infosys was involved in the misuse of the B1 visas which permit Indian techies a four-month stay in the US. As per US rules, B1 visa holders are not allowed to be paid.
Information available in Delhi says that the case is being directly handled by the Secretary, Homeland Security, USA.
When questioned about the law suit, Infosys sources said in Delhi that it would have little adverse impact on the company but made it clear that it uses only a negligible amount of B1 visas.
