CBI special judge OP Saini of Delhi today deferred till May 20 his order on the bail plea of DMK MP, Ms. Kanimozhi, daughter of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Karunanidhi and Sharad Kumar, MD and CEO of Kalaignar TV in the 2G Spectrum scam case.
“The decision is deferred till May 20,” said the judge in a simple order after ensuring the presence of all the accused in the court.
CBI lawyer A K Singh later told a horde of journalists that the order was adjourned as it was not yet ready.
Kanimozhi attended the court proceedings accompanied by her husband G Aravindan and DMK parliamentary party leader T. R. Balu.
The court had on May 7 reserved its order on the bail pleas after veteran lawyer Ram Jethmalani argued on behalf of Kanimozhi saying that her client was not at fault and former minister A. Raja was only responsible for the scam.
Kanimozhi has been accused of accepting a bribe of Rs.200 Cr for Kalaignar TV from Shahid Usman Balwa’s firm DB Realty for having done favours in the 2G Spectrum.
