In a high-level meeting involving both India and Pakistan, Indian foreign secretary Nirupama Rao and her Pakistan counterpart Salman Bashir are scheduled to meet today in Bhutan to discuss the pending issues beween the two countries. The meeting is being taken place first time after the Indian External Affairs Minister’s meeting with Pak’s Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad in July last .
India froze its peace dialogue with Pakistan in the wake of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks, which claimed 166 lives.
"Dialogue between India and Pakistan is essential to sorting out thorny issues affecting both the nations, said Nirupama Rao ahead of her meeting with Pak’s Bashir.
We are hopeful of having a continued dialogue with Pak, added the foreign secretary.
