Rs.40 Cr voter-bribe money seized in TN

money-seized-40crPolice officials and election authorities in Tamil Nadu have recovered a whopping amount of Rs.40 Cr cash in a joint operation today while polling was in progress across the state. This is the highest amount to be seized in a single seizure so far in the state and election authorities said that the amount was meant for bribing voters.

With this, total cash recovered by the authorities on the eve of elections in the state has reached to Rs.60 Cr and the police have filed several cases against political workers and leaders on the instructions of the election officials.

Sources said political parties have distributed money to the voters across the state through students and other agents. Polls took place in Kerala, West Bengal, Pondicherry and Assam along with Tamil Nadu today and heavy to moderate polling was recorded in all the states.
