Raja’s remand extended till April 25

spectrum-rajaSpecial CBI Judge O.P. Saini of Delhi today extended the judicial remand of all the accused in the 2G Spectrum scam till April 25.

The judicial remand of former Telecom Minister A. Raja, the main accused and two other accused, Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Managing Director Sanjay Chandra and Swan Telecom Promoter Shahid Usman Balwa was extended till April 25 when they were produced in the court.

They complained to the CBI Judge that the documents supplied to them by the CBI were incomplete. They have submitted an application to the court requesting the supply of all documents from the CBI which has charge sheeted them in the case. On seeking an assurance from the CBI on the issue, the court said CBI has promised to submit the documents to them by April 30. Extending their remand, the court said it will examine the documents on April 25.

The court had, on April 20, dismissed the bail plea of Mr. Chandra, Group MD of Reliance ADAG, Gautam Doshi, co-promoter of Swan Telecom, Vinod Goenka, Reliance ADAG’s Surender Pipara and Hari Nair who have been named as accused in the charge sheet.
